Finn Beach Summer 2020

*For the Summer 2020 season, Finn Beach will be opening in Phase 2 of the Governor’s re-opening plan which starts on June 17.  Parking passes will be available by appointment at the town hall starting on Wednesday, June 17th. Please make sure you read everything before making your parking pass purchase.

We are able to open our beach for the 2020 summer season, but we need for everyone to understand that to comply with COVID 19 safety guidelines, we have had to make several changes. We have a small beach, and we need everyone to keep that in mind.  We hope that we will be able to safely keep the beach open all season!

Finn Beach is a Voluntown Town Beach and is open from *June 15 to September 15.

For the 2020 beach season, we need to remember to practice social distancing while on the beach and in the water. Because of the limited space on our beach, we ask that each family kindly use the space of one blanket (approximately 6 feet by 6 feet) . A family of five or more people would require the space of two blankets (about 6 feet by 12 feet).  We ask that families space 6 feet away from each other. The maximum space we have on the beach is approximately 15 families which depends, of course, on the number of people in each family group.  Our security will be monitoring the beach to make sure it is at a safe capacity.

For COVID 19 contact tracing purposes the parking pass number, name of the person with the pass, and time arrived will be recorded with the security guard upon entrance of the parking lot. Please do not come to the beach if you or anyone in your family has a fever or is showing symptoms of COVID 19. Please be prepared to wear a mask when checking in with security, and when walking to and from your vehicle.

People who purchase passes must understand that it can not be guaranteed that there will be space on the beach available when you arrive, and the parking lot and beach will close when the beach is deemed full. For safety reasons, vehicles will not be allowed to wait by the gate for the parking lot to open. We can not guarantee that the status of the parking lot and beach capacity will be posted publicly. There will be no refunds if the beach capacity constantly fills up before arrival. Please plan accordingly.

Due to the small size of Town Hall, it is not currently open to the public. Please call ahead btw 9am and 4pm, Monday-Thursday, to schedule a time to purchase your parking pass @860.376.4089.  We are only taking exact cash and checks as payment. Please be prepared to wear a mask when you enter Town Hall to pick up your parking pass.

Finn Beach is a public beach and is open to anyone regardless of whether or not they reside in Voluntown.

Please make sure you have a parking permit for the lot as there is no parking allowed on the street. Permits are transferable from car to car. Permits can be picked up at the Town Hall in the Town Clerk Office.  Please be ready to show proof of residency.  Checks are to be made out to ‘Town of Voluntown’.

Parking lot security will be used again this year. The parking lot will be open daily from *June 15- Sepetember 15, 10:00AM- 6:00PM.

To offset the cost of lot security the fees for parking passes are as follows:

Voluntown Residents: $25 for the season (includes 2 guest day passes)
Non-Residents: $75 for the season
Day passes: $15 per day for resident, $30 for non-nonresident.
