Voluntown Fire Department Building Improvement Committee

This committee has been formed to assist in developing engineering and architectural designs for proposed facility improvements at the Voluntown Fire Department Complex, 205 Preston City Road, Voluntown. The Board of Selectmen appropriated $200,000 of ARPA funds for this project.

The Responsibilities of this committee include, but are not limited to;

  1. Identifying the needs of the Voluntown Fire Department about the existing buildings and property.
  2. Working with the design firm to incorporate the needs into engineering and architectural designs for facility improvements, which will be used to seek grant fundings.
  3. Making sure the project stays on budget and reporting the possibility of budget changes to the Board of Selectmen
  4. Making sure the project is compliant with state and federal procurement guidelines.
