Voluntown Affordable Housing Plan Info and Survey

The State of Connecticut has made it mandatory for every municipality to have an Affordable Housing Plan in place by Spring 2022. To make this plan work for the Town of Voluntown we need input from residents and from not residents. The purpose of this plan is to evaluate if the housing in Voluntown is sustainable and meets the needs of those who live in town and who would live in town in the future.  Are the current housing options in town affordable for young adults, singles, families, seniors? What can we do as a town to make sure that new housing is added in a way that keeps the Voluntown qualities that we love? These are all things we have to think about and put in our plan.

This process will include surveys, community conversations, and of course, a Voluntown Affordable Housing Plan Committee.  We are currently seeking people to be on this committee, and members can be residents and non-residents of Voluntown. If you are interested in being on the committee please contact the Selectmen’s Office at 860-376-5880 or jzelinsky@voluntown.gov

The first survey is now open. Please answer honestly through the link below. Paper surveys are available Town Hall in the Town Clerk’s office for those who prefer those.
