Seeking Volunteers

There are currently vacancies on several Town Boards and Commissions. These are all volunteer positions. Interested parties must be a resident of the Town of Voluntown, and an elector of the Town of Voluntown. Volunteers should be able to fulfill the duties of the Board or Commission which include commitment to regularly scheduled meetings, and willingness to serve on committees if applicable. Qualifications are not necessary. 

Alternates can attend every meeting, but they are only voting members if they are appointed to fill the seat of a regular member who is absent. 

The Voluntown Youth Service Bureau/ Local Prevention Council Advisory Board is seeking new members. Community members who are interested can contact the Board Secretary, Adam Burrows, at The Superintendent’s Office 860-376-9167. Interested candidates to the positions below, please submit a letter of interest with qualifications if any to the Selectmen’s Office at jzelinsky@voluntown.gov, drop it in the town hall drop box, or mail it to PO Box 96, Voluntown CT, 06384. 

The Library Board of Trustees has a vacancy for a position that ends 11/21/23.

Economic Development Commission- Three Alternate vacancies to fill two year terms that end on 11/15/21. All members of the EDC are appointed, and are not elected. 

Voluntown Sterling Transfer Station Commission- One Alternate vacancy to fill a one year term that ends on 12/31/21. All members of the Voluntown Sterling Transfer Station Commission are appointed, and are not elected.
