Voluntown Volunteer Fire Department is Seeking Volunteers

A message from the Voluntown Volunteer Fire Department:

Volunteerism is on the fall.  We are a town that was built on volunteerism! Our town residents can get involved.  It is a commitment that is worthwhile in helping your fellow neighbors.

The Voluntown Volunteer Fire Department is made up of 40 members that are trained as either Fire Fighters, Emergency Medical Technicians or Fire Police.  Our responsibilities range from controlling traffic during emergencies related to fire such as car fires and structure fires.  We provide patient care for the sick, traumatic injuries, domestic violence, and falls.   We conduct rescues in water, forest emergencies such as search and rescue, recreational vehicle accidents and hunting accidents.  We also respond to hazmat emergencies.

We work in unison with advanced life support (Paramedics and LifeStar).  We transport our patients to regional hospitals.  Our department works closely with the Connecticut State Police (CSP), DEEP, and Eversource.

We provide all the training and gear necessary to provide volunteer support to our department!

If you are unable to commit to our department you can still volunteer to help at our fundraising events or support us by purchasing tickets to our fundraising dinners.

For more information, contact the Voluntown Volunteer Fire Department at 860-376-0475, or visit the firehouse Monday evenings 7-9.
